I am SO excited for today’s post! If you know me at all, you know I am a lover of any and all things sparkly. Living in a house full of boys can make this challenging 😉 So I take every opportunity I can to incorporate sparkle into my outfits and decor! The holiday season is the perfect time to get away with wearing sequins loud and proud. I have teamed up with a group of ladies who are all sharing their holiday style today, so be sure to head to the bottom of this post to check out their styles, as well! And if you have any holiday fashion posts, feel free to join in the linkup so others can see your looks 🙂 And now, onto your guide to sparkly outfits for Christmas ad New Years Eve!
Your Guide to Sparkly Outfits for Christmas and New Years Eve!
Neutrals
This look has actually been on my list for months. I have been eyeing this dress forever, and let me tell you, it is as pretty in person as it is online! It comes in regular and tall, and has shoulder pads, which is fun! It is a true wrap dress, so a safety pin may be helpful if strategically placed. Differentiating from some of the looks below, the ‘sequins’ are a part of the fabric on this one, so it is not one bit itchy, and is so comfortable!
Back in Black
Alright, this is a dress that I honestly expected to feel self conscious in. Since having kiddos, and not working out nearly as often as I used to, I am self conscious of my upper body. I try to be body positive, but my arms and broad shoulders are something I always struggle to feel good about. So, anything with thin straps usually feels me leaving exposed. But let me tell you, the way this dress falls, it fits like a DREAM. It is one of those items that you put on and immediately feel like a million bucks. The sequins and beads are sewn into the fabric, so while it has LOTS of sparkle, it is not itchy or scratchy in the slightest. Prices vary, with some sizes coming in over $100, but I actually was able to snag a size 12 (which was a little big but I made it work) for only $37!
A Pop of Teal
I love color, but teal isn’t something I usually gravitate towards. Something about the wrap style and pretty sleeves on this little number caught my eye, though! This is the shortest dress on the list, but by ordering it in TALL it fit me like a mini dress, without being too short. The belt wraps around twice, so you have flexibility in how you tie it. The sleeves also balloon a bit, which is a fun extra touch! These are true sequins, but this one is not itchy!
Lady In Red
This dress has the most basic style of all of the items, with a basic sleeve and sheath fit. I will be totally honest-this one has the scratchiest sequins. Once you get it on, you won’t have issues, but anyone who leans in for a hug might need to be warned 😉 I love the color so much for the holidays, too. Wouldn’t this be pretty with a shawl for a winter wedding!?
A Sassy Option
Alright, if we are being honest, this might be my favorite look on the list. I felt like FIRE putting this outfit on. Like, it was impossible to not want to strut my stuff. I just felt so GOOD wearing this. The purple top is actually a bodysuit, and like all of the other items from ASOS, it comes in tall. Bodysuits can be so challenging when you have a long torso-but this one fits like a dream. Paired with some faux leather leggings, I do not know if I have ever felt sexier in an outfit. This look is made for a night out on the town!

Office Party Chic
I always struggle with how to wear sparkles in a normal setting. It is pretty easy to pull them off at a wedding or for a night out. But what about a holiday party of family get together? By pairing a sequin skirt with a very basic black sweater, I was able to dress this look down! This is something that you could wear to just about any holiday get together without feeling like you are over dressed! The skirt runs true to size, and it has a bit of a flare at the bottom. I love the fit because it is not a pencil skirt and gives you room to breathe. ** exact skirt is sold out, but this option is very similar!
A Comfy Option
A lot of holiday looks are so chic, but not always comfortable. You know what is comfortable? Spanx. Ladies, do not fight the Spanx. Drink the juice. They are heavenly. I paired my Spanx with a black bodysuit, threw on this sequined cardigan, and voila! A fun look that is comfort to a T. This cardigan has large sequins that are not scratchy, and I love that it fits like a kimono and not a blazer. It is a very unique piece that is different from anything I have seen!

Casual Chic
I figured I should include one look in here that is much more casual, so I paired a pair of jeans with a black bodysuit, threw on this blazer, and called it good! I love that the sequins on this blazer are two toned, so you get the black peeping through. The sequins are also a bit muted, which makes this piece sparkly but subtle. This look could work for just about any occasion, even a casual dinner out!

Sequin Leggings
I will be honest. I was not sure how I was going to feel about these sequin leggings. They have been brought back for a few years, but I was not convinced that they would be flattering. But oh my goodness, I love them! They are not too short, and once I threw on a cozy black sweater and some black booties, it felt like the perfect balance. I am looking forward to styling these multiple ways, but I really love this look. I even asked Mike his thoughts, to see if they are ‘too obnoxious’. He told me not at all! Just a warning, the inside is not smooth, but I do not find them to be itchy or uncomfortable at all!

Retro Glam
Alright, I keep saying I have a favorite look, but then I find another one I love just as much as the last! This dress is by far the most GLAM of all of these looks. And when I say glam, I mean retro, throwback, feel like I could be at a swing dance club in the 40s glam. The batwing sleeves, modest length, and gorgeous wrap details make this dress a stunner. I am wearing a size 6 tall, and I am typically an 8. The fabric is incredibly stretchy, so if there is any item on the list to size down in,t his would be it. Your normal size will likely work as well, but if you like things fitted or the only option is one size down, don’t be afraid!
