This past weekend, we celebrated our little Lincoln turning TWO! I cannot believe how quickly the time has gone; every birthday is a little bit heartbreaking, but this is the first time in nearly four years where it really doesn’t feel like we have a ‘baby’ in the house anymore. Cue all of the mommy tears. Our little CInco De Mayo baby is a lover of all things dinosaur, so while ‘Linco De Mayo’ is too good to pass up, we had to have a party focused on what little man loves. I had so much planning his ‘Two-Rex’x party. We did more of a jungle theme last year for his Wild One party, so I decided to go with more bright, bold colors for our little dinosaur this time around. I had so much fun pulling together this dinosaur birthday party, and despite his grumpy face in any pictures I asked for, he had SO much fun with all of our family who came to celebrate!

The Details

Last year I made Lincoln a homemade Wild One crown, and he just found it in his room and has been wearing it around the house. I decided to treat him to a new one this year and am IN LOVE with how it turned out. It was so easy to make, too.

These cupcakes had ‘monster cookie frosting’ and it was as delicious as it sounds! And my favorite shop Glitter Party Co. once again nailed it with the cupcake and cake toppers!

The Party

Seriously, why are family photos with toddlers impossible?

My sweet boy was SO excited when he woke up from his nap and saw his dinosaur birthday party all set up. This table was so much fun to put together. Of course, the balloons were his personal favorite. That and the green dinosaur figurine!

Don’t let that face fool you; this boy LOVED his dinosaur birthday party. Every time I asked my sweet boy to say ‘cheese’ he immediately got SO mad at me. He was too busy playing with all of the toys and having all of the fun to stop and smile for me, apparently.

He LOVED opening gifts this year. His favorites were of course the small balloon which was a part of the wrapping paper, and the light up dinosaur that ROARS. It is so much fun seeing him really start to get excited and enjoy parties!

He was SO excited to blow out his candles, and was so disappointed when mommy finally helped that I had to relight one of the candles for him to continue blowing it out. My BIG, independent two year old!

I would just like to point out that this is the epitome of what our family pictures look like at this stage in life. NEVER are we all looking, but their faces are still adorable so I don’t mind 😉

I just love this sweet boy, and want to bottle up his innocence and joy at this stage. Happy second birthday to our Lincoln!
