Best White Dresses for Summer

Happy Monday friends! Is anyone else in disbelief that is already the last week of June!? I was talking to Mike yesterday about how we spend so long waiting for summer, and once it is here it seems like we have all of this time ahead of us. Then we blink, and June is already over! We still have lots of fun to pack into the rest of summer, that is for sure! While I don’t follow the no white after labor day rule (seriously, who decided that was a thing!?), I will admit there is just something about a clean white dress against tan sunkissed skin! I decided to round up my best white dresses for summer below. Most of them are well below $50, and the few that are over $50 will be at or below that price with sales and promo codes! Happy shopping!

Best White Dresses For Summer

One of my go to places for dresses has definitely become Amazon! You can see other Amazon roundups here, here, and here! This dress is actually what my sister wore to her bridal shower, and it is as pretty in person as it looks online! And I have worn this dress, this one, and this one in different colors and both fit excellent!

I saw this dress at Old Navy and immediately fell in love. It also comes in a gorgeous pink colors! I love how the linen fabric dresses it down a bit and makes it feel more casual. And my other go-to for pretty dresses is Target-how cute is this button front style!? I found another button front option here that is a bit more expensive, but this retailer runs sales ALL of the time so be on the lookout for a deal!

I decided to throw in one style that isn’t solid white. The subtle polka dots are so gorgeous on this dress, and it is so elegant and classy! And the final dress is so cute and mixes lots of recent trends. Again, this one comes in above $50 but with today’s promo it comes very close to that pricepoint!

Tell me, what is your favorite color to wear during the summer months!? Isn’t there just something about those warm summer nights by the fire? 🙂

Five Top Denim Styles You Need To Have

I don’t know if there is anything I love more than a good pair of jeans. They just make you feel AMAZING, don’t they? I look back and laugh at the fact that I resisted skinny jeans for so long. They are now pretty much the only thing I will wear. I also love how much COLOR and different washes are in style. I can never narrow it down to just ONE pair of jeans, so I rounded up my five top denim styles every woman needs in her closet. Keep reading to see my favorites!

Classic Dark Wash Denim

At the end of the day, you cannot go wrong with a pair of dark wash jeans. They go great with a jacket and t-shirt, but are also so easy to dress up! Of all of the denim options out there, I really feel like a basic pair of dark wash are the most versatile. I love this option, and these are SO soft and stretchy.

Distressed Denim

I have never met a pair of distressed jeans that I did not like. I literally get compliments on this pair every single time I put them on! And these are the distressed jeans heard round the world of bloggers. I finally bit the bullet and bought them, and I can tell you with confidence that they are my favorite jeans, EVER.

Light Wash Denim

I am a sucker for light wash jeans. Something about them always makes me feel like summer, which is why they make the list of top denim styles. You do need to be careful with light wash jeans to make sure they are still flattering, though. I love these and these, great basics at a good price point.

White Denim

Whoever said you cannot wear white after Labor Day is seriously crazy. But this is one of my top denim styles for a reason. One of my favorite ways to wear white is actually during winter (I know I know, how dare I bring up the W word when summer weather JUST finally arrived). Really though, white jeans are great during every month of the year. This pair is my go to, and I am obsessed with the distressing on these.

Black Denim

Ahhh, black denim. This is my newest obsession and one of my top denim styles I recommend. I just love the trendy edge a pair of black jeans can bring to a basic outfit. I love distressed options like the ones pictured below, and also a good solid pair is great for every day and worth the investment.

Patriotic Fashion: Fun and Festive Summer Looks

I have always loved dressing for the holidays. There just is nothing more fun than FEELING like the celebration. One of my favorite things about summer is that patriotic fashion is in style from Memorial Day all the way until Labor Day. These styles are simply too cute to limit to one holiday. You better believe my patriotic fashion will be getting use all season long. All of the items listed below can be found at Old Navy, which proves time and again why it is my favorite store. The prices on these items cannot be beat, and they are all SO cute!

Favorite Old Navy Finds

These cutoff shorts are the perfect item to throw on over your swimsuit bottoms, or to pair with a cute tank top at a summer barbeque. For days spent by the pool, how cute are these patriotic slides!? And we all know that days spent outside and at the pool mean our hair isn’t getting done. So, a cute hat is an absolute must! And despite the heat we feel during the days, summer nights (especially in the Midwest) can still cool down. A cute hoodie or this fun ombre sweatshirt are perfect for hanging out around the bonfire. And while casual looks are my favorite during the summer months, you can class up patriotic fashion too! This gingham blouse would be so cute with the cutoff shorts I mentioned, and this swing dress wraps up patriotic colors in such a fun way!

Friday Favorites: Welcome Spring [And Everyday Pieces]

Happy Friday, friends! Who else welcomed the first day of spring this week with more snow? I heard they are expecting another bit storm out east. Since we are just getting enough snow to make me annoyed, I will stop complaining because a dusting is better than a blizzard 😉 I have to say, I have been on quite the shopping kick lately. I am just so excited to start wearing all of the spring things! So today I am rounding up my new favorite everyday pieces! If you are looking for basics, neutrals, and basically #oldnavy, keep on reading!

1. The bralette heard round the world

Well, after what feels like a lifetime of lusting over this bralette, I finally bit the bullet and invested in one. And you guys, it was worth every. single. penny. I always struggle so much with finding bras that work under shirts, and this bralette is just so pretty and I love that it is designed to be shown off! Now I need to practice some self control and not buy all of the other colors. They just started carrying them at Nordstrom, so I highly recommend trying it out. With free shipping and returns, if you have wondered if these are worth it, you have nothing to lose.

2. The softest tank tops

I shared these on my Instagram stories last week, and they were a hit! I have a number of the luxe tanks from Old Navy, and really do like them. However, they wrinkle very easily, and ironing is something I avoid at all costs. These tanks are cut the same as my classic favorites but are soft, almost like a thin sweater. And seriously NO WRINKLING. I got them in gray and green, and am debating snagging the other two colors. I also just noticed they have a t-shirt option in the same fabric, so I will be adding those to my cart, too!

3. Easy and versatile utility jackets

I shared this adorable camofaluge utility jacket last week, and you guys, I am so hooked! I have never been a camo fan. Perhaps it is because I grew up in a family of hunters and wanted nothing to do with anything hunting related? But lately I have just been loving the camoflauge trend. Even at full price, these jackets are an incredible deal, and come in so many pretty colors! I am also loving the army green and blush colors.

4. My new favorite sweater

I saw this sweater over on my friend Taylor recently, and had to have it! I love the front seam, and I am not exaggerating when I say it comes in EVERY color. I am a basics gal, so I got it in gray and white, and I have already worn both. It is incredible soft, and lightweight enough that it would be perfect to wear with shorts or capris during spring.

5. The perfect white camisole

I have been on the hunt for a lined cami that will work to wear to work under cardigans and blazers. I did try out this one, but unfortunately I am just too tall and it didn’t work with my long torso. For anyone of more average height, I would say they are great, though! But I found this one at Banana Republic, and it is PERFECT. It is a great length, and lined so that you cannot see through it. This is one of those classic everyday pieces that I will live in for work all spring and summer!

Friday Favorites: St. Patrick’s Day

Happy Friday, friends! Did you all survive the week okay with the time change? We did…barely. Bedtime has been a struggle this week, to say the least. As I type this it is way too early and I have a toddler screaming for bacon cheddar seasoning for his goldfish crackers, if that tells you anything. I am super excited for the weekend, even though we don’t have any big plans. We are 0% Irish, so the extent of our celebrations will likely be Mike and I enjoying a kids free dinner, but I’ll take it 😉 Some Friday favorites to kick off the week are below, so keep on reading!

New Sunglasses

If you have never heard of DIFF sunglasses, you are missing out. I have honestly always been a ‘cheap’ sunglasses girl. But the second I put on my first pair of DIFF sunnies, I knew what they hype was about. They have polarized lenses, and are seriously the most amazing quality. They just feel like they are well made. The pair pictured are the Becky frames in black; but the gold flash color is seriously SO pretty as well. I can say these are 100% worth the price. And all of next week DIFF has an AMAZING sale that will be happening, so if you have thought about snagging a pair, it is the perfect time to do so. And last but not least, I may or may not be hosting a giveaway with DIFF over on my Instagram on Monday, so be sure to head over to enter! 😉

Baby Shower

A definite Friday Favorite this week was my party post! I was SO excited to share all of the details from the Spring Chick Baby Shower I threw for my sister-in-law a few weeks ago. I think the cake setup was possibly my favorite thing ever. Those fuzzy little chicks made it just perfect! Whenever I host a shower, I love to try and buy decor that could be reused. So I got personalized wall signs and made a fabric banner and I am just thrilled that these items can be used in baby girl’s nursery. It is so much fun to see the items live on once the party has ended!

Dress Guide

One of my absolute favorite things about spring is all of the pretty new dresses that hit the racks. I rounded up my five favorite styles, and have tons of adorable (and affordable!) options that I shared. Be sure to check it out if you are looking for an Easter dress, or something pretty for an upcoming wedding!

Banana Boat Chicken

I don’t have any photos, because in all honesty this meal can get messy to make and is kind of time consuming. By the time we served it up earlier this week, I had some hangry kiddos and snapping photos just wasn’t a priority 😉 But years ago, we went to a restaurant in Minneapolis that has a menu item called banana boat chicken, and I found a recipe online that looks like it was actually shared by the chef! It is absolutely delicious, like every time I have made it and take that first bite I can’t get over just how good it actually is. The cream sauce is what makes the entire dish. We serve it over rice with a side of sauteed peppers. If you are feeling adventurous and want the best chicken ever, this is it.

St. Patrick’s Day Crafts

Like I said, we aren’t Irish, and as our boys get older, I am sure we will get into fun holidays a bit more. But for now they don’t really understand. However, I would love to have a fun craft or two for us to do on Saturday. I am thinking they would LOVE this slime, and we already have Oreos in our house, so these cute dipped cookies would be super easy to pull together. And I love that this rainbow craft involves no paint or messy items, and I am positive Jackson would be in LOVE with the idea! Do any of you have fun and easy craft ideas for St. Patrick’s Day?

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend. Is it feeling like spring where you are yet!? We are still covered in snow and it is pretty cold, but at this point in the year temps in the forties and a little bit of sunshine are enough to help us start getting over our cabin fever. We may even brave the park and an iced coffee with these toasty temps 😉

Five Must Have Spring Dress Styles

Spring is in the air, and that means pretty pastels and feminine spring fashion! The warm weather is slow to arrive here in the Midwest this year, but that hasn’t stopped me from dreaming about spring fashion. Nothing makes me happier than putting on a pretty spring dress and a fancy pair of shoes. I have rounded up my five go-to styles for spring, with all options below $100, and most below $50!

Ruffle Midi Dress

My oh my, this lavender ruffle midi dress caught my eye the moment I saw it. I just love the delicate color, and all of the pretty details. An asymmetrical ruffle dress is perfect for keeping things feminine with a bit of edginess, as well. I have always been a sucker for for BB Dakota, and this dainty spring dress is perfect for weekend brunch. And finally, while I love the pastels of spring, this bright and bold dress is so fun and a unique twist on the traditional spring dress we usually think of.

Tee Shirt Dress

While most think of short sleeves when talking about tee shirt dresses, I love this french terry dress and how it has long sleeves and is a bit thicker. It is the perfect dress to bridge that winter/spring gap. This cozy swing dress is a cult favorite and super affordable. And bonus, it is so flowy that you never have to worry about it clinging to the wrong places. I am convinced that every woman should own a simple black dress. It can be dressed up or down, and we all need those versatile pieces in our closets! This tie waist dress is still super casual while having such a fun detail it can totally be dressed up, too! I saw this bell sleeve dress and about died. A baseball tee, dress, and bell sleeves all in one!? Yes please!

Shirt Dress

I am an absolute sucker for demin, so this dress that is denim with a pretty tie detail is an absolute must in my book. And if there is one thing I love more than denim, it is a good gingham dress, it is one of my absolute favorite patterns. This dress pushes the limits with its open shoulders and fun pattern.

OTS Dress

Off the shoulder looks have been one of my favorite trends over the past two years. This pretty teal dress is a great color with lots of fun details. And as a tall girl, hi-lo midi length dresses are my jam, so this coral floral dress is right up my alley. And while I love dresses with lots of details, I also absolutely adore the simplicity of this adorable fit and flare dress.

Lace Dress

A good lace dress can be used for so many occasions. Easter, weddings, and date nights would all be the perfect opportunity to wear this Intricate lace dress. I am a sucker for a good high neck dress and the lavender color of this one is just gorgeous. And this dropped shoulder dress is modest, but definitely a little bit sexy, too!

What are your favorite spring dress styles? There are so many options out there right now. Isn’t spring fashion just a breath of fresh air!?
