Up until about a year ago, I used any product that caught my eye on the shelves at the store. I was all about convenience, and if the packaging was pretty and the price was right, I was happy to give it a try. And then after we had our boys, we slowly started doing research on what was in the products we were using. Some items (like my beloved candles) were tossed almost immediately after we learned the dangerous effects of burning them in our home. And with other items, while we did not feel the need to switch everything in one day, we decided that as things ran out, we would swap out for safer alternatives. Eventually I got around to skincare and beauty. To be honest, this is the one area I have always invested little to nothing in. But after four years of being pregnant or nursing, my skin took a hit as my hormones finally started to regulate this past year. I had more breakouts and blemishes than ever before, and even started to see the early signs of wrinkles! I decided that, for the first time in my life, I was going to invest in a routine that worked for me and took care of my skin. Did you know that the skin is the largest organ on our body? It takes seconds for the products we put onto our skin to enter our bloodstream. Just because we place a product on the surface of our body does not mean it isn’t affecting us on the inside!
I knew I wanted to use safe products, but I also wanted them to WORK. When I discovered Beautycounter, I could not believe that these products not only fought things like aging, blemishes, and skin tone, but that they are also made of SAFE ingredients. Beautycounter bans over 1,500 ingredients and chemicals from their products, which gives me total peace of mind. Beyond makeup and skincare, I am also able to turn to Beautycounter for body products, as well as baby and kids products, meaning everyone in our household is getting safe and non-toxic products without us having to search for them. My skin and hair are in the best shape they have EVER been, and I could not be more thrilled to have found this company.
