The biggest sale of the summer is almost here! The Nordstrom Anniversary sale is super popular and with great reason. While most sales happen at the end of the season to clear out inventory, the Nordstrom Anniversary sale includes HUGE markdowns on new fall and winter items the day they hit the website! It is the perfect opportunity to snag fall sweaters, booties, winter gear, and more!
What’s Different This Year
With Covid-19 things for the sale look a bit different this year. Most stores have not re-opened their fitting rooms, so you are not likely to see any try ons or large hauls the day the sale hits, as we will have to place our online orders just like everyone else 🙂 One exciting change this year, though, is the release of a virtual catalog! In years past, a catalog was sent out in the mail. This year, the virtual catalog will allow you to save your favorites so when the sale opens, you are ready to go. The virtual catalog will be available on July 24th!
When Can You Shop
The Nordstrom Anniversary sale opens in tiers, with cardholders gaining the earliest access. There are different levels for cardmembers to shop as well (like other credit cards, spend more, earn more perks!) For any new cardmembers, early access begins on August 13th. The sale then opens to the general public on August 19th. If you are not yet a cardholder, signing up now before the sale is a great option and you will receive a $40 bonus note when approved. The bonus note is literally cash to use at Nordstrom like a gift card! To open a Nordstrom Card, head here!
Tips To Shopping the Sale
Plan Ahead. The anniversary sale is the best time to snag fall and winter favorites. What do you need for the upcoming seasons? Whether it’s fall cardigans, winter boots, or outerwear for the kiddos, have an idea of what you’re looking for. There are SO many items included in the sale. Narrowing down what you want can make it a bit less overwhelming!
Save your wishlist. I am SO excited about the preview available to everyone on July 24th. Start shopping early, add favorites to your wishlist, and take the time to decide what you really want.
Set your alarm. Sale items sell out fast, and with the ability to add favorites to your wishlist, I would fully suggest setting a timer so that you can easily checkout and ensure you get the items you have your eye on! I am not one to advocate for buying/returning items. But with how quickly things sell out, and with the great return policy at Nordstrom, if you are unsure of sizing I would snag both and keep what fits. Most items will be sold out by the time you try an item and realize you need to exchange for a new size!
I will update this post once the preview comes out with any additional tips, tricks, and anticipated hot items. Shopping looks so different this year, and to minimize risk, I will 100% be sticking to doing my shopping from home (and form the comfort of my couch and pajamas). Cheers to the best sale of the year!
