Here is a fun fact for you all; today is my half birthday! I have never been one to celebrate half birthdays, but for whatever reason I realized it is today. Today marks me being halfway to twenty-nine, so maybe that is why. Thirty is inching closer and closer. Of course I have always liked the fact that Mike is six whole years older than me, because none of my milestones seem as dramatic when they come around 😉
Aside from sitting around and thinking about how o.l.d. I am getting, this has been a dreary winter week. I hate the fact that I used the word ‘winter’ to describe March, but that’s the reality of living in the Midwest. Now we are just crossing our fingers that the snow begins to melt sooner rather than later. Jackson has been talking about summer and swimming in our pool. He isn’t very patient, and at this point in the year, neither am i!
I was so excited when I received a hands-free soap dispenser from Simple Human this past weekend. Jackson seriously L.O.V.E.D it. You are able to purchase soap cartridges that click right into the dispenser, and it charges by a jack on top that plugs in, with the average charge being held for months, which means no constant changing out of batteries! We may have gone through an excessive amount of soap when I first let Jackson give it a try 😉 Simple Human also has hands free trash bins, and some are even voice controlled! Sometimes I just love technology.
I have been on such a shopping kick the past week or two. I am sure a lot of it has to do with being ready for spring, and that always leaves me ready for a wardrobe refresh. I scooped up this blush terry dress this week, and cannot wait to wear it under a jean jacket, or white demin too!I think spring fashion is my absolute favorite! I am also planning to scoop up a few of these camis that are so perfect for under jackets or cardigans. They are pretty and flowy, and will transition great into summer!
Today Jackson has his preschool screening. I have no idea how he is old enough for this day to be here, but it is. I decided to take the day off of work to enjoy a mommy and me day. We will bring his brother to daycare, have breakfast just the two of us, and enjoy some quality time, just the two of us. With every passing day I realize how important it is for my children to have time where my attention is dedicated to them, and I cannot wait to enjoy some time with my precious three year old.
Gap has their friends and family sale happening right now! Everything is 40% off with code FRIEND, plus free shipping. If you have a Gap Card, you can use code plus10 and take an additional 10% off! I ordered these yellow jeans I mentioned last week, and I am swooning over this open stitch sweater. I love this flutter midi dress, I think it would be great for church or under a cardigan for work.
These sales are also always the best time to stock up on staple pieces for the boys. I cannot say no to seersucker shorts, and I will sing my praises of Gap’s toddler jeans forever. While it is not the only place I have bought jeans for my boys, they are always hands down my favorite and the best quality. The fabric waistbands are my favorite! These hoodie t-shirts are my favorite, and are great transitional pieces between seasons. And these undershirts (especially with the sale) are a great deal and the best quality! And per my husband’s request, I can’t resist snagging these boxer briefs for J man! Seriously, the friends and family sale gets me every time.
I am going back and forth over investing in a pair of Madewell demin. Friends, do any of you have their jeans? I have heard people sing their praises high and low, but the price tag (for me) is steep. When you sign up for their Insider program you get free shipping and returns, and right now they also get 15% off, but I would love your thoughts on the best options!? I really am just looking for a classic mid/dark wash skinny jean that I can wear for years to come. Please help a girl out!
